The University was established in 1899. Katerynoslav Higher Mining College was established more than 100 years ago in order to train high-skilled professionals for mining industry. Nowadays we are confronted with the same task however it is extended and complicated.

Today the National Mining University is the leading educational and scientific establishment that in the conditions of global and European integration processes trains high-skilled professionals and scientific workers according to all specialties of geological survey and mining industry, fuel and power complex and mineral resources sector, machine building and automation systems, informational support of production.
